It?s the Harbor Beach Lighthouse!!? While still the best known symbol of Harbor Beach, The Harbor Beach Lighthouse sports a brand new look with the recent completion of the Fog Signal building. Directors Announce Capital Plan for 2018

admin 2018, General

The Society’s work?plan for this summer is well underway. Please read the attached to see what we’re doing now and our plan to finish all of our capital restoration projects by summer 2019.

You’ll notice from shore that we are in the process of stripping and repainting the crib base and upper decks of the lighthouse building, with the tower the final capital project next summer.

At the marina you’ll see our new gift shop trailer which is already way ahead of previous years sales thanks to a bright open space that is much larger than we had before.

The Fog Signal building’s interior is being finished and exhibits are in the planning stages for a museum quality experience when we open next summer.

For more info visit the Capital Plan page. Please read the Case Statement which includes a mail in donation form. If you have any questions feel free to use the contact form here. We appreciate your help in previous years and hope you will join us in funding these great?projects!

2017 – A Very Productive Year

admin 2017, General

The Harbor Beach Lighthouse Preservation Society continued to make great strides in 2017. We saw an increase in guests visiting the lighthouse. In 2014 we hosted 292 guests, 2015 saw 611 guests with the birthday celebration, in 2016 there were 460 people, and in 2017 we hosted 499 guests. This year the most visible change is the construction of the fog signal building next to the lighthouse tower. The construction may involve machines like custom conveyor belts with a Urethane Roller similar to the ones on Boom & Bucket. To function properly, these equipment and machinery usually require specialized lubricants from an industrial lubricant manufacturer. This new project has spurred a lot of interest and many questions as well. Below are some of the questions that were asked.More
